To Our Valued Customers and Neighbors,
The health and safety of Costello’s customers and associates is our highest priority. As we continue to actively monitor developments related to Coronavirus in the U.S., I wanted to reach out personally to share what we're doing to go above and beyond our standard measures to maintain a sanitary environment in our stores and to keep our shelves stocked with what you need.
We are closely following the guidance of local, national and global health authorities including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO), and here are some of the proactive steps we're taking:
Supporting Our Associates
We continue to share information with associates on the best ways to keep themselves and their families safe and healthy. To help prevent the spread of the virus, we’re encouraging anyone who feels sick to stay home, while suspending the current attendance polices. We have also provided our staff and stores with the necessary sanitizing products to keep our stores a safe environment for all.
Keeping Our Stores Safe
In addition to our daily cleaning efforts, we’re increasing the frequency and time spent cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms, door handles, shopping carts and baskets, checkout counters, computers, pin pads and other high-touch areas. Our associates are also conducting handwashing at more frequent intervals as well as using hand sanitizer on a regular basis.
Out of an abundance of caution, we have decided to suspend in-store crafts and events. We do this regretfully knowing that it affects the community- especially children- but feel it is prudent to follow the recommendation of health professionals and actions of fellow retailers.
Stocking Items You Need
Our team is in close contact with suppliers and is working diligently to try to keep high-demand products in stock like hand sanitizer, disinfecting wipes, cleaning products and respirator masks. In some cases, these products are in very limited supply; however, our procurement team continues to research every possible source and move quickly to re-stock our shelves and make them available to you. With certain items that are in high demand, we have imposed limits to ensure more of our customers are able to access items they may need. Any purchase quantity limit is subject to change based on product availability- we continue to monitor the situation regularly.
Local Home Delivery Fees Waived
Until further notice, Costello’s Ace has waived our home delivery fee for all customers within a five-mile radius on any purchase of $20 or more. If you are unable to or uncomfortable with traveling to our store, we can bring it to you. Our deliveries are performed by our own associates and we can get products to you quickly, usually in a couple of hours or less. Call your local store for more details or to place an order.
At the center of our company’s purpose is a commitment to serve our communities. We know that during conditions like this our customers rely on us even more and want you to know that every member of our team is working extra hard to see that the needs of our neighbors are being met. We will continue to pivot to meet the demands of this ever-changing situation in order to keep our stores safe, open, and serving the community.
Thank you for your continued business, support, and feedback.

Frequently Asked questionsOur guest experience
What steps is Costello’s taking to keep its staff and guests safe and healthy in their stores?
We’ve always taken pride in our clean and well-run stores, and we know this is more important than ever right now. We are taking guidance from Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC), which recommends regular cleaning as one of the most important preventive measures we can take. Health and safety is our first priority, and we’ve put a number of additional steps in place to protect them as they shop, including adding payroll hours to support more rigorous cleaning routines, including ensuring guest-facing surfaces like checkout counters, door handles and touchscreens are cleaned at frequently.
Will Costello’s have the items I need?
We know that many guests are stocking up on key essentials, and we’re working hard to accommodate this increased demand. To ensure as many guests as possible can find the items they need, we’ve placed limits on certain in-demand products like toilet paper, disinfectant wipes, bottled water and more. We’ll continue to make adjustments to limits as needed, and would ask all guests to consider their immediate needs, understanding that many shoppers are hoping to stock up on the same items. However, due to high demand, we are facing delays. We apologize for any inconvenience.
What are other fulfillment options available for guests?
Costello’s Ace offers a range of fulfillment services that don’t require guests to enter the store, including:
- Curbside Pickup – a team member delivers your purchase to your car in our parking lot.
- FREE Contactless Home Delivery – a Costello’s store associate makes a same-day delivery to your doorstep. (available on orders over $20)
