At Costello’s Ace Hardware, we believe that being part of a community means showing up and giving back.
Through Costello’s Cares, we support local organizations, schools, and causes that strengthen the neighborhoods we serve. Our focus is simple: make a meaningful impact where our customers and teams live and work.
How We Give
We support our communities in several ways:
Round Up at the Register
Customers can round up their purchase to support featured charities. One hundred percent of funds raised goes directly to the organization.
In-Kind Product Donations
We provide tools, paint, supplies, and gift cards for schools, community projects, and local events.
Monetary Donations and Sponsorships
We support programs and events that align with our giving priorities.
Community Partnerships
Our stores work directly with local organizations through events, tabling opportunities, and hands-on support.
Costello’s Cares Core Causes
To ensure our giving is focused and impactful, Costello’s Cares prioritizes the following core causes:
- Children’s Medical Causes
- Cancer Charities
- Hunger Relief
- Veterans Causes
- Animal Welfare Causes (pending final approval)
Important:
Monetary donations, sponsorships, and Round Up campaigns are limited to organizations that align with these core causes. Organizations outside of these categories may still be considered for in-kind donations or local community support, but are not eligible for cash contributions or Round Up campaigns.
Giving Guidelines
To ensure our giving is consistent, fair, and impactful:
- Requests must come from a recognized charitable organization (501(c)(3), school, or municipality)
- Requests should benefit a community near a Costello’s Ace Hardware location
- Requests must align with our giving priorities
- We typically accommodate one request per organization per year
What We Do Not Support
To stay focused and responsible, Costello’s Cares does not support:
- Political organizations or campaigns
- Religious organizations for religious purposes
- Individuals or personal fundraising efforts
- For-profit businesses
- Organizations not in good standing
- Requests that present legal, safety, or reputational risk
How to Request Support
If your organization is seeking support, please submit a request through our official Costello’s Cares Giving Request Form.
All donation and sponsorship requests must be submitted through this form. Requests made in-store, by phone, or by email will be directed to the online form.
Most requests receive a response within two weeks.
How We Evaluate Requests
Each request is reviewed based on:
- Alignment with our core causes
- Impact on the local community
- Organizational reputation and community standing
Our goal is to support as many organizations as possible in a fair and consistent way.
Recognition and Partnership
We value strong community partnerships. When possible, we appreciate:
- Photos or updates showing the impact of our support
- Recognition of Costello’s Ace Hardware or Costello’s Cares in event materials or social media
