Prep Time: 10 minutes

Cook Time: Approximately 3½–4½ hours

Servings: 8

Ingredients

  • 1 fully cooked, bone-in half ham (approximately 10 lb)
  • 4 cups low-sodium chicken broth
  • 2 cups apple juice
  • 1 orange, quartered
  • 2 bay leaves (optional)
  • 1 bottle Traeger Honey & Brown Sugar Glaze (use as needed)

    Directions

    1. Preheat the oven to 325°F. Place a roasting rack inside a large roasting pan.
    2. Using a sharp knife, lightly score the surface of the ham in a crosshatch pattern, approximately 1 inch apart and ⅛–¼ inch deep.
    3. Place the ham on the rack, scored side up. Add the chicken broth, apple juice, orange quarters, and bay leaves to the bottom of the pan.
    4. Insert a meat thermometer into the thickest part of the ham, avoiding the bone. Roast until the internal temperature reaches approximately 130°F. Cooking time will vary depending on the ham's size.
    5. Squeeze the roasted orange quarters over the ham. Brush with approximately ¼ cup of Traeger Honey & Brown Sugar Glaze. Continue roasting, brushing with additional glaze every 15 minutes until heated through. Loosely cover with foil if the glaze darkens too quickly.
    6. Once the ham reaches the appropriate reheating temperature, remove it from the oven and rest for 20 minutes before carving. Serve with additional glaze if desired.

    Food Safety:
Reheat fully cooked ham packaged in a USDA-inspected plant to 140°F. Other fully cooked hams should reach 165°F.
